Blending tradition and modernity, Weider Silveiro brings the essence of Brazil’s cultural festivals to the runway.

Since his recent collections, Weider Silveiro has embraced a sense of nostalgia. At São Paulo Fashion Week, he takes us on a journey through his childhood and teenage years, drawing inspiration from Northeastern Brazil’s artistic traditions, such as the Festa de São João, maracatu, reisado, and pau-de-fitas.

A native of Piauí, Weider references the festivals of his homeland while incorporating the urban and timeless aesthetic that defines his creations. The collection features elegant, clean pieces in warm colors with touches of blue, bringing the designs to life.

The plaid patterns from the São João festivities, cutouts reminiscent of traditional flags, and puffball silhouettes paying homage to the event’s iconic hot air balloons are some of the show’s key elements. Playing with asymmetry and structured collars, the collection balances sophistication with modernity.

Handwoven textiles, crafted by artisans from Iguape, add a special touch to the collection. Without being overly literal, the designer beautifully pays tribute to his heritage and national traditions through a poetic and refined lens.
